Description
💧 No pipe, no well, no rain for days — and yet something is quietly watering these plants. The soil stays damp every morning, as if the night itself were watering the garden.
No pump, no motor, no machine. Everything making it happen cost about $12. Here's how to pull water out of thin air.
🌫️ **How it works** — the air around your garden is full of invisible water (more than in all the world's rivers). When warm, damp night air meets a cool surface, that water turns to liquid — the same way a cold glass "sweats" on a hot day.
🪤 **The device** — stretch fine mesh tight over a simple PVC frame. All night, droplets form on the threads, merge, run down, and drip into a gutter below. No power, no moving parts.
📐 **The details that matter** — keep the mesh drum-tight, tilt the panel so drops run off, face it into the night breeze, lift it off the ground, and shade it from the early sun so the dew doesn't evaporate.
🌱 **What it's for** — soft, chlorine-free water (just like rain) sent straight to your thirstiest seedlings and pots. Pair it with mulch and your garden stays damp far longer.
Honest truth: it's about half a liter a night in normal air — not enough for a house, but in a drought that can be the difference between a seedling that lives and one that dies. (For watering, not drinking.)
