The 2026 Tochigi robbery murder (栃木県強盗殺人事件) 25-year-old TikToker Miyu Takemae shared videos of what looked like a happy young family with her baby daughter. But little did her audience know, she and her husband Kaito Takemae were orchestrating a home invasion using a group of children they controlled. Four masked teenagers, lured in through yami baito, or "dark part-time jobs," were sent to rob a wealthy farming family's home in rural Tochigi, believing as much as 100 million yen was hidden inside. Within five minutes, they left one dead and two others injured. But as police followed the trail, they realized this couple pulling the strings was only the tip of the iceberg. Who was the mastermind behind this gruesome case? And how are criminal networks like tokuryu turning ordinary people and even kids into ruthless killers? ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Dark Silk is dedicated to uncovering true crime cases from East Asia and beyond, stories buried in regional news and lost in translation.
