Everything You Were Told About the Praying Mantis Is Wrong

💰 Support the channel: USDT TRC20: TBebXWjFeAJHfArVsJvt8N6Yv5rvn4GXP7 Every other insect on earth reacts to movement. The praying mantis measures you. It is the only insect with true stereo vision, proven in 2016 by fitting mantises with tiny 3D glasses and building them an insect cinema, and the only insect with a neck that lets it turn its head 180 degrees and watch you over its own shoulder. In this video: what the praying posture actually is, why the strike takes 50 milliseconds, the single ear in the middle of its chest that hears nothing but bats, the orchid mantis that pulls in more pollinators than real flowers do, what the field data really says about females eating males, the horsehair worm that walks a land insect into a swimming pool and drowns it, and how an animal that never lived in North America ended up hunting ruby-throated hummingbirds at backyard feeders in 70% of all documented cases. 👍 Subscribe for new wildlife documentaries every week. #prayingmantis #mantis #insects #wildlife #wildlifedocumentary #animalfacts #entomology #hummingbirds #bugs #naturedocumentary #invasivespecies #animalbehavior #backyardwildlife #insectfacts #natureeducation
