Description

Juan José Esparragoza Moreno, El Azul, was one of the most powerful and mysterious figures in Mexican organized crime. He survived Pedro Avilés, Félix Gallardo, Amado Carrillo, El Chapo, prison, cartel wars and decades of persecution, while almost always staying in the shadows. In this documentary, I go deep into the side of El Azul that very few people know: how he was, his personality, his time inside the DFS, his relationship with Amado Carrillo, his influence in Morelos, his years in prison, the famous photo with Julio César Chávez, his role as mediator between rival cartels, and the alliances that helped shape the Federation. I also include little-known details, rare anecdotes and stories that are never told, the kind of information that helps explain why so many major capos trusted him, and why El Azul became known as the man who could sit enemies at the same table. And then comes the biggest mystery of all: his supposed death in 2014. No definitive proof, no public body, an almost immediate cremation, and a U.S. file that remained open. Did El Azul really die… or did one of Mexico’s most elusive capos simply disappear? Music: Tension Mode - Soundrisemusic
