Description

This was my first attempt at casting an aluminum bronze SUBSCRIBE plaque to place in the background of my youtube videos. It was a failure as the flasks were not clamped tightly enough together, and even though the mold filled it found a way out the side of the flasks and drained the casting of the needed metal. I have since cast another sign succesfully and am working on the full video of that process. Aluminum bronze is one of my favorite metals to cast. It is as strong as steel, looks like gold and is easy to melt in a backyard foundry. It can be challenging though as the shrinkage is high, and it can be difficult to get to flow nicely.
