Description

There are two types of people in this world. Those who love the movie Rango, and those who haven’t seen it since they were 9 years old. Because what was once bizarre and confusing to me as a kid is now (much more apparently) just brilliant. Each time I rewatch Rango it gets better than the last, and I think it’s because the writing is just so clever. Clever in a way that makes jokes not just witty but also true to the characters telling them. Clever in a way that uses action not just as spectacle but also as a tool for its narrative. Clever in a way that positions its villains as real, threatening challenges. And clever in a way that develops its lead character from fraud to hero. All that’s to say, there’s a lot to praise about Rango, and in this video essay we’re going to cover it all.. #writingadvice #rango #videoessay
