Description

In 1889, German painter Franz von Stuck completed one of his darkest works. A menacing rider on a black horse, leading a procession of the dead through the night. When the painting was first exhibited, critics praised it as a masterpiece of Germanic mythology. But decades later, something changed. As the world grew familiar with the face of Adolf Hitler, people began looking at this painting differently. And once they saw it, they could not unsee it. In this video we explore the myth behind the painting, Hitler's documented obsession with Germanic mythology, and whether what we are looking at is a simple coincidence or something far more unsettling. ► Shop "The Wild Hunt" (1899) at - https://www.inspiraggio.com/products/wild-hunt-franz-von-stuck-1889 ► Shop Art Prints & Canvas at - https://www.inspiraggio.com/collections/shop-all ► Shop Fine Art Phone Cases at - https://www.inspiraggio.com/collections/iphone-cases → Join our FREE newsletter: https://www.inspiraggio.com/pages/newsletter → Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/inspiraggio → Contact: [email protected] 0:00 Introduction 1:07 Franz von Stuck 1:59 The Wild Hunt 2:50 Analysis 5:22 Coincidence?
