Description

What if 300 Spartans held the Battle of the Alamo instead of its real Texan defenders? We put Spartan hoplites behind the walls in February 1836 to face Santa Anna’s army under a red no-quarter flag. Mexican muskets kill at a hundred yards, and a spear reaches eight feet. The real garrison of about 200 men cost Santa Anna between four and six hundred soldiers, so can bronze and spears make the Alamo cost him more? We follow the thirteen-day siege hour by hour: the night sortie against the huts by the south wall, the bombardment that crumbled the north wall, the Alamo’s final battle at dawn on March 6, the long barracks doorways where spear finally outreaches bayonet, and the last stand in the church. Each phase gets a survival tier based on how the real Texans were doing at the same hour. Along the way we test the Battle of Thermopylae myth against the record, and show why the fort’s own eighteen-pounder matters three times without ever firing for the Spartans. If you love Texas history, the Texas Revolution and ancient-versus-modern warfare what-ifs, tell us in the comments which call you’d reverse, and subscribe to NerdHistory for the next Collision of Eras. #TexasHistory #AmericanHistory #NerdHistory #Spartans300 #AlamoFinalBattle
