Description
In southern Ukraine, a new kind of weapon is spreading across the battlefield.
They are not built in factories.
They are printed.
Using hobby-grade 3D printers, small plastic anti-personnel mines are being produced in large numbers, modified from older designs and deployed by drones across entire مناطق. Hidden in fabric and nearly invisible in grass, these devices are cheap, fast to produce, and extremely dangerous.
The result is a battlefield where the threat is everywhere.
Civilians walk through streets scanning the ground. Entire areas have become too dangerous to clear. At current rates, it could take hundreds of years to remove the contamination.
But a new response is emerging.
AI-powered drones are now being used to detect these hidden explosives from the air. Using machine learning models trained on real battlefield imagery, these systems can identify mines in milliseconds and map entire contaminated zones with high accuracy.
This has created a new kind of arms race.
On one side: cheap, disposable weapons printed in minutes.
On the other: artificial intelligence scanning the battlefield from above.
This is the story of how war is changing in real time.
