Description

Winter food prices in November are about half true, and this video shows you which half. Grocery prices are up around 2.4% this year, but coffee and beef are climbing faster, and the fall harvest and case lot sales make October the cheapest time to stock up on a lot of the basics. I count down 20 foods worth buying before October ends, from canned tomatoes and green beans to potatoes, onions, winter squash, honey, powdered milk, oats, dried beans and white rice. For each one I explain how long it really keeps, how to store it so it lasts, and a few pantry mistakes I made so you don't have to repeat them.
