Couple Builds a Log Cabin in Alaska Before Winter | Start to Finish | ‪@beccanlevisalaska‬

A young couple who had never built with logs turn a numbered log cabin kit into a cozy off-grid home in the Alaskan wilderness, racing one short summer before winter comes back. This is the full log cabin build from start to finish: twelve posts dug out of the snow, every log stacked by hand, a steep metal roof, a burl tree post, and the first fire in the woodstove. Watch how the foundation posts go in during a March thaw, how each numbered log finds its row, why a twisted burl tree ends up holding up the loft, and how the roof goes on in a race against the rain. This video is presented for educational, inspirational, and entertainment purposes, highlighting the skill, effort, and creativity involved in building a beautiful log cabin from the ground up.
