Description

Living on $1,300 a Month in the Philippines — Here's the Truth My name's Gordon. I'm 67, and I'm from Michigan, just outside Grand Rapids. I spent my working life as an electrician, forty-one years of it, residential and commercial, pulling wire and wiring up panels and troubleshooting other people's mistakes. It's a good honest trade and it treated me alright, but I want to be clear about something up front, because it matters for this whole story. I am not a rich man. I never was. I didn't sell some big house for half a million dollars. I didn't have a fat 401k. I've got a modest pension from the electrician's union and my Social Security, and when you put the two together, it comes to right around thirteen hundred dollars a month. That's it. That's what I've got to work with, and that's what a whole lot of you watching have got to work with too, which is exactly why I'm making this video. Because thirteen hundred a month is a very interesting number. In America, it's a struggle. Out here, it's something else entirely. And I want to show you the honest difference.
