The Largest B-2 Strike in U.S. History — Operation Midnight Hammer, Fordow, 2025

At about 2:10 a.m. on June 22, 2025, over a mountain near Qom in central Iran, a single American B-2 bomber dropped two 30,000-pound bombs — the first combat use of the GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator. Over the next 25 minutes, the United States struck three Iranian nuclear sites: Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan. Gen. Dan Caine, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, called it the largest B-2 operational strike in U.S. history. This film follows the problem behind that night, as the Pentagon later described it: a bomb that could reach a plant buried deep inside a mountain, and a way to get it there unseen. It runs from the day the secret enrichment plant was revealed in 2009, through the weapon's development and the 18-hour flight of seven B-2s, to the 12 bombs on Fordow's two ventilation shafts, the 120 seconds at Al Udeid two days later, and the assessments that still disagree.
