Description

CopenHill, also known as Amager Bakke, is a massive waste-to-energy plant in Copenhagen, Denmark. Hundreds of tonnes of non-recyclable waste are processed here and converted into electricity and district heating — while people ski on its sloping green roof. From the garbage bunker and moving grate furnace to steam turbines, heat recovery and flue-gas cleaning, this is one of Copenhagen’s most unusual mega-engineering projects.
