Description

India is developing MATSYA 6000 — a deep-sea human submersible designed to carry three people almost 6 kilometres beneath the ocean. At that depth, the crew will sit inside an extraordinarily strong titanium pressure sphere while the vehicle explores one of the most hostile environments on Earth. MATSYA 6000 is being developed by NIOT under India’s Samudrayaan programme and Deep Ocean Mission for deep-sea scientific exploration, biodiversity research and the study of ocean mineral resources.
