What Isaac Newton Really Believed About the End of the World

Isaac Newton calculated the end of the world for 2060, based on his private analysis of biblical prophecy. This look at his manuscripts reveals what he actually predicted for the future. While famous for his contributions to the history of science, Newton spent decades studying scripture to decode the timeline of human history. His theological papers, which remained hidden for over two centuries, clarify that he was not predicting the physical destruction of the planet, but rather a transition into the kingdom of God. He interpreted the time, times and half a time from scripture as 1,260 years, beginning his count from the crowning of Charlemagne in 800 AD. Newton viewed his 2060 prophecy as a way to refute the rash conjectures of others who claimed to know the future. By examining these rare writings, we gain insight into the private convictions of one of the greatest minds in history.
