What They Didn't Want You to Know About the Book of Enoch #History #ForbiddenKnowledge

The Gospel of Mark (6:3) names the brothers of Jesus as James, Joses, Judas and Simon, and Christian tradition identifies the author of the short Letter of Jude as that same Jude, “brother of James,” though modern scholars still debate its authorship. In verses 14 and 15, Jude quotes almost word for word from 1 Enoch 1:9, a Jewish text written centuries before Jesus. Around the year 400, Saint Jerome wrote in De Viris Illustribus that many rejected Jude’s letter because it quoted the apocryphal Book of Enoch. The letter kept its place in the Bible, while Enoch vanished from the West and survived complete only in Ethiopia. The early historian Hegesippus, preserved by Eusebius, records that Jude’s grandsons were brought before Emperor Domitian and released after showing him their farmers’ hands.
