Description

While H.P. Lovecraft has inspired far too many horror films, Color Out of Space was a welcome addition to the list with a spooky monster unlike any of his other creations. Now, this film is also famous for kickstarting director Richard Stanley’s Lovecraftian trilogy, but what truly sets it apart is that the alien in it merges a mother-son duo, leaving us with the uncertainty of how they might be buried deep within the creature, desperate for a way out.In this way, the titular ‘Color’ took us all aback by horrifyingly fusing a mother and son into one grotesque, still-living creature, leaving us wondering how much of their individual consciousness, if any, remains intact. Now, I know that all of this sounds pretty jarring and confusing at the same time, and that’s exactly why I will be taking you through this fused creature’s anatomy and exploring how it merged a mother and son into one body amid glaring pink and violet lights!
