Could 8 Special Operators Rescue Custer From Last Stand Hill?

What if eight modern soldiers dropped into the Battle of Little Bighorn? At Custer's Last Stand, 240 rounds a man face up to 2,000 warriors, with no resupply and no radio. On June 25, 1876, the 7th Cavalry is collapsing company by company above the Little Bighorn River, and a modern rifle team has four decisions to change an afternoon the record already finished writing. Every one is paid for in rounds or in men. Mike tracks the Last Stand survival tier through each call: pulling Keogh's troopers out of the swale, holding the knoll when Crazy Horse finds the seam in the line, dragging George Armstrong Custer off his own hill, and burning the last magazines on a dead run to the river. Along the way, the archaeology shows what really happened at Little Bighorn, from the cartridge cases that erase the heroic ring in the painting to the Henry and Winchester repeaters that outgunned the army's single-shot carbines. Would you force Custer off the crest or hold the ring? Drop your call in the comments, and subscribe to NerdHistory for the next collision of eras.
