Description

Experience the face of the pharaoh who pushed Egypt's borders to the Euphrates through the power of Artificial Intelligence, advanced facial reconstruction, digital restoration, and realistic 3D visualization. This documentary-style AI reconstruction brings Thutmose I back to life, more than 3,500 years after his death. Each reconstruction is inspired by archaeological evidence, historical records, inscriptions, and the physical features preserved through thousands of years. Thutmose I was the third pharaoh of Egypt's 18th Dynasty, ruling around 1506-1493 BCE. He appears to have come to the throne through his marriage to the royal woman Ahmose rather than through direct royal birth. His reign began with a Nubian rebellion, which he crushed, and he went on to lead Egypt's armies deeper into Nubia and across the Levant, reaching as far as the Euphrates. He also expanded the great temple of Amun at Karnak, laying the groundwork for the monuments that later pharaohs would build on. His family shaped the rest of the dynasty. His son Thutmose II succeeded him, and his daughter Hatshepsut would later rule Egypt as pharaoh in her own right. Hatshepsut had her father's remains moved into her own tomb, and his body was later relocated again by his grandson Thutmose III. That trail of reburials is part of why his mummy is still debated. A mummy found in the Deir el-Bahari royal cache in 1881 was long identified as Thutmose I. Later scientific analysis called that into question: the man appears to have been around thirty years old when he died, from an arrow wound to the chest, which does not fit what we would expect of this king. Today the identification remains disputed, and some researchers list the mummy as an unidentified royal. Using AI facial reconstruction, digital restoration, realistic facial modeling, historical reconstruction, and cinematic 3D visualization, this project offers an immersive glimpse into the past while respecting the archaeological evidence behind each reconstruction.
