Description

Built to Last — the old farm ways, all in one book: https://ezrakaine.com Does the viral salt bucket heater work? Half a million people watched a video that says a ten-dollar bucket of salt will heat a room all winter with no power and no gas. So I bought the salt, built the bucket exactly the way they said, and put a thermometer in the room. It moved the temperature one degree. Then I tried something that's been sitting in my kitchen my whole life. Four degrees, and it didn't cost me a dime. Every winter the internet sells a new free heater: clay pots over candles, a can of shortening with wicks in it, and now a bucket of salt. Every one comes with the same story, that it worked so well the heating companies buried it. On the night the power goes out, a bucket in the corner is the wrong thing to be counting on. WHAT YOU'LL LEARN • The part of the salt heater that's actually true — real science, and what it does • What it really cost, because it's a lot more than ten dollars • What the thermometer read in a sunny window, and next to the wood stove • The math on why no bucket of salt can heat a room, however you build it • Rock salt vs Glauber's salt (sodium sulfate) • The clay pot candle heater, and the other "free heaters" online • What really holds heat through the night, the way my grandfather did it • The first night I got it wrong, and the 5 a.m. numbers The short version: nothing in a bucket makes heat. It can only store heat that a fire or the sun already gave it. STAY SAFE if you try what works in this video: never seal a jar or capped jug on or near a stove, because steam with nowhere to go will burst it. Keep plastic away from the stove. Keep anything hot toward the back, out of reach of children, with handles turned in, and never let a pot boil dry. Tell me in the comments: what state are you in, and what's the wildest free-heat trick you've seen online? I'll test the best one. #SaltHeater #ViralHackTested #HeatingHacks #PowerOutage #WoodStove #FreeHeat #StayWarm #WinterPrep #Debunked #Homesteading #OldWaysAreBest #Prepping
