Description
It has barely been two weeks since PLU Secretary General Fadil Twala struggled to coherently defend Muhoozi and the PLU manifesto on NBS Frontline. Just when we thought the communication department needed a break, Twala returned with another episode!
In a tweet trending on social media, he reportedly attempted to say, “I can’t afford to miss,” but somehow delivered, “I cannot miss to afford.” The sentence left grammar fighting for its life!
Former Leader of the Opposition Winnie Kiiza joined the laughter with a sarcastic retweet: “Yes, because the bright is very future.” Others suggested Twala be returned to Primary Three for remedial English lessons.
Nobody is demanding Shakespeare from a politician, but surely a party hoping to lead Uganda should be able to communicate its manifesto without sending the English language into intensive care.
The future may be bright, but Twala’s grammar has switched off the lights!
