Pressure 24/7: Why the Rage, Why the Vulgarity?

Ugandan TikToker Musana, popularly known as Pressure 24/7, or Pressure Pressure, is no stranger to controversy. He has faced multiple arrests and court charges reportedly involving hate speech, defamation, and unlawful access to personal data. Yet, controversy has not silenced him. Recently, Musana has attracted renewed attention for his outspoken attacks on President Yoweri Museveni, his son Muhoozi Kainerugaba, and members of their political establishment. He speaks with a level of intensity that leaves little room for polite language—and at times, his criticism descends into outright vulgarity. But what is driving all this anger? Is it personal experience, political frustration, or something deeper? And why does he choose language that many people consider obscene when challenging those in power? I recently produced a commentary about Musana that attracted more than 30,000 views. That prompted me to reach out to him directly for a conversation. I wanted answers to two questions: What is the source of his outrage against the establishment, and why does he rely on vulgar language to express it? In this phone interview, I put those questions directly to Musana. Here is what he had to say.
