Description

After exposing himself as a fraud and a state mercenary witness in Besigye’s trumped-up treason case, Orlando Wilson is now running to social media to cry foul and plead for help. Wilson admitted that the guns initially attributed to Besigye had actually been placed in the hotel room by Kenya’s military. Yet, having struggled to convince Ugandans to buy his story, he has now turned to international organisations, calling for action against Kakwenza and Winnie Byanyima, whom he accuses of fraud. He also took to X claiming that Kakwenza had threatened violence against him. But the responses were far from the sympathy he appeared to be seeking. Many users mocked his complaints, challenged his credibility, and told him to stop playing the victim. This is the problem with being perceived as a gun for hire: once people stop trusting your credibility, even your genuine complaints struggle to find a sympathetic audience. You cannot spend your time trying to sell a fake story to the public and then expect the same public to rush to your defence when the backlash comes.
