Description

Easy Homemade Crockpot Beef Stew — the perfect fall comfort food! There’s nothing better than coming home to a warm, hearty homemade dinner, especially when it’s as easy as this Crockpot Beef Stew! In this video, I’m showing you how to make a delicious, comforting beef stew in the slow cooker. One of my favorite things about this recipe is that you can prepare it the night before, put everything together, and then start the crockpot in the morning before you leave. When you come home, dinner is ready! This is a wonderful easy fall dinner, busy family dinner, make-ahead meal, or simply a cozy homemade meal when you’re craving good old-fashioned comfort food. Easy Homemade Crockpot Beef Stew A Cozy, Hearty Fall Dinner Ingredients 1 pound stew meat, cut into bite-sized pieces 4 potatoes, cubed 4 carrots, cubed 1 onion, cubed 2 cups water 4 beef bouillon cubes 2 bay leaves 2 garlic cloves, minced 1 teaspoon thyme 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce Salt and pepper, to taste For Thickening 1/4 cup all-purpose flour A little water 1 cup of the cooking liquid from the crockpot Instructions Prepare the ingredients: Cut the stew meat into bite-sized pieces. Cube the potatoes, carrots, and onion. Add everything to the crockpot: Place the stew meat, potatoes, carrots, and onion into the crockpot. Make the broth: In a bowl, combine 2 cups of water with the 4 beef bouillon cubes, bay leaves, garlic, thyme, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir well. Add the broth: Pour the mixture over the meat and vegetables in the crockpot. Cook: Cover and cook for 4 hours on HIGH or 6–8 hours on LOW, until the beef and vegetables are tender. Thicken the stew: In a small bowl, combine 1/4 cup flour with a little water. Stir until smooth and free of lumps. Add cooking liquid: Add 1 cup of the cooking liquid from the crockpot to the flour mixture and stir well. Finish the stew: Pour the flour mixture into the crockpot and stir everything together. Cook another 30 minutes: Continue cooking for about 30 minutes, or until the stew has thickened to your liking. Make-Ahead Tip Prepare the ingredients and assemble the crockpot the night before. Cover and refrigerate overnight. In the morning, place the crockpot on its cooking setting and let it cook while you're away. Come home to a warm, hearty homemade dinner!
