Rome High Rat Density

Original video credit: IG/vasil_velchev Did you know Rome's rat population exceeds 7 million? That is 2.5 rats per resident. Cafes especially attract them because rich food aromas make easy targets for scavenging. Watching urban wildlife navigate bustling city streets showcases how adaptable rodents are in human environments. Historic cities with ancient sewer infrastructure, dense tourist areas, and abundant outdoor dining provide ideal conditions for urban rodent populations to thrive. Scraps left behind around cafes and waste collection points offer an easy supply of nutrition. City authorities continuously manage urban wildlife using targeted control methods, improved waste disposal systems, and regular street cleaning routines. Containing food scraps in sealed containers helps reduce food sources and limit scavenging behavior across crowded plazas. #NatureIsWild #Animals #Insects #Wildlife #Shorts
