Cobb County Police named him on 13 October as Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem, 42, of Atlanta, who worked for Atlanta Public Schools. Police say, from preliminary interviews, that he was ejected from the ride and struck other riders before falling beneath the attraction; several people were hurt. Police have not said why he came out of his seat. That same night Six Flags closed nine similar coasters at parks across the country. This film rebuilds the afternoon from the riders' and witnesses' own accounts, the train left on the lift hill, the lap bar that holds every rider, the Texas Giant fall of 2013 and what its control panel showed, and how Georgia inspects a ride: once a year, for sixty-five dollars. As of 14 October: Goliath has no seat belts, only individual lap bars (AP). Bolliger & Mabillard, which built it, says it is investigating. Georgia's Safety Fire Commissioner has inspectors examining the ride; its inspection records are not yet public. Six Flags Over Georgia reopens 16 October with Goliath closed; none of the nine coasters has a reopening date. No cause has been released. The 3D scenes are reconstructions; this film shows no image of the victim and no injury. 00:00 What really happened on Goliath 01:46 The seat, and the last run 05:36 Nine coasters 08:32 Car three 11:33 Once a year 14:00 What comes next Official records: · Georgia Safety Fire Commissioner, amusement ride inspections: https://oci.georgia.gov/inspections-permits-plans/amusements-rides · Georgia rule 120-3-27-.07, inspection fee and permit: https://www.law.cornell.edu/regulations/georgia/Ga-Comp-R-Regs-R-120-3-27-.07 · Congressional Record, Rep.
