The Pentagon says it will be livestreamed. It would be the first execution ever streamed in America, the first US military execution since 1961 and the first military firing squad since 1945. This film follows the people it lands on: the soldiers in the Soldier Readiness Processing Center on 5 November 2009, the survivors, and the families asked by email whether they want to attend or watch online. It covers the earlier plan, the October announcement, what Hegseth, the Pentagon and President Trump said on the record, and the objections from both parties. Nidal Hasan was convicted by a court-martial in 2013 of 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 of attempted premeditated murder and sentenced to death; his appeals ended when the Supreme Court denied certiorari on 31 March 2025. When this film was finished, on 10 October 2026, no habeas petition had been filed and the Pentagon had not published any details of the stream.
