In 1965, Barry Sherman's uncle, Lou Winter, died at 41, leaving his generic drug firm, Empire Laboratories, without a leader. This video tells the full story: the 1967 purchase of Empire with Joel Ulster; his 1971 marriage to Honey Reich, born in a 1947 displaced persons camp; the 1974 founding of Apotex; 1,200 Federal Court cases and the Olivieri dispute; the 2006 Plavix gamble that ended in $442 million in damages; a record $50 million UJA gift; and the unsolved deaths of December 2017.
