What Is Saint Michael’s Lent? 40 Days of Prayer, Fasting & Spiritual Warfare

Have you ever heard of Saint Michael’s Lent? 🕊️⚔️ Beginning on August 15, the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and ending on September 29, the Feast of Saint Michael the Archangel, this beautiful Catholic tradition is a special time of prayer, fasting, penance, repentance, and spiritual renewal. Inspired by the devotion of Saint Francis of Assisi, Saint Michael’s Lent invites us to prepare our hearts for God and seek the intercession of Saint Michael the Archangel, the great defender of God’s people. The Bible reminds us: 📖 “Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon.” — Revelation 12:7 📖 “The Lord rebuke you.” — Jude 1:9 📖 “Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.” — Ephesians 6:10 This is not a time to live in fear, but a time to draw closer to Jesus Christ, strengthen our faith, resist temptation, repent of sin, and trust in God's power. 🙏 During these 40 days, consider increasing your prayer, reading Scripture, attending Mass, receiving Confession, praying the Rosary, fasting, and praying the Chaplet of Saint Michael. Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Pray for us and lead us closer to Christ. Amen.
