This is a countdown of thirteen of them, working our way around the state, and at every stop we look across the line first, at Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois or Michigan, because the other side usually explains the secret. There's a fifty-five-ton boulder that never left the bedroom it crashed into, a riverbank holding a shut-down reactor's spent fuel next to a village of about 230 people, a four-story hotel built for a capital that went to Madison, a waterfall that's been underwater since 1907, and one fish that two states both list as their record.
