Welcome to Wisconsin Revealed: Wisconsin history and small-town stories, like the frozen pizza empire that started in a Medford bar across from a graveyard. Wisconsin Revealed tells the stories behind the towns, back roads and money of the Badger State. Take Medford. In 1962 two brothers, Pep and Ron Simek, ran a tavern called the Tombstone Tap across the road from the cemetery and started making pizzas in a six-by-six-foot kitchen in the back. That side business became Tombstone Pizza, and the brothers sold it to Kraft in 1986. Every Wisconsin town has a story like that. On this channel we count them down: the places the mob and the Prohibition gangs once ran, the lumber and beer fortunes that built whole towns, and the famous names every county raised. From Milwaukee and Madison to Door County, the Driftless and Up North, every video is built from public records, county histories and published reporting.
