Description

Every Retirement Wealth Level After Tax: Where Do You Rank? How much is your retirement portfolio really worth after taxes? The answer depends far more on how you withdraw the money than most people realize. In this video, we compare six traditional IRA and 401(k) wealth levels after federal tax: $250K $500K $750K $1M $1.5M $2M Using a married couple age 67, about $38,500 in Social Security, and a 4% first-year withdrawal, the estimated federal tax bills range from roughly $0 at the lower levels to about $7,331 at $2 million. Even a $1 million traditional IRA can produce about $78,500 in combined annual income with an estimated federal tax bill of only around $1,146 under this example. But withdraw the entire $1 million in one year and the estimated federal tax can jump to roughly $291,000. Same account. Completely different tax result. We also compare traditional IRAs, Roth IRAs, and taxable brokerage accounts, explain how Social Security taxation works, and show why pensions, Roth conversions, RMDs, Medicare surcharges, and withdrawal timing can dramatically change your after-tax retirement wealth. The biggest lesson: a $1 million traditional 401(k) is not automatically worth only $750,000 after tax. Your account type, income sources, and withdrawal pace determine how much you actually keep. #Retirement #401k #IRA #RetirementTaxes #RetirementPlanning Disclaimer: This video is for general educational and informational purposes only and does not constitute financial, tax, investment, Social Security, Medicare, or retirement advice.
