Description
Even pros don’t know these 3 workshop tricks! In this video, I show three practical DIY metalworking solutions that can make common workshop problems much easier to solve.
First, I build a simple homemade tool for removing a belt from a pulley without pulling it out by hand. This clever tool makes belt removal easier and helps keep your hands away from the pulley.
Second, I make a custom jaw for my homemade bench vise. The special shape allows the vise to securely grip tapered parts that are difficult to hold with standard vise jaws.
Third, I show how I repair a damaged threaded hole. Using my homemade metal lathe and basic machining techniques, I rework the hole, cut new threads, and modify the fastener to create a strong connection.
For these projects, I use my angle grinder, homemade bench vise, and homemade metal lathe.
These are simple workshop hacks, but they can be extremely useful when working with metal and repairing or making tools.
I enjoy building homemade tools and finding practical solutions to everyday metalworking problems using machines and materials available in my workshop.
If you enjoy DIY tools, metalworking, machining, welding, homemade machines, and clever workshop solutions, make sure to subscribe for more projects.
Watch the full video to see how all three techniques work and how you can use similar ideas in your own workshop.
