Description

A retired Macomb County detective is taking a $50 parking ticket to court. During Royal Oak’s Arts, Beats & Eats festival, he parked his Cadillac on a residential street inside a permit-only exclusion zone. Parking Officer Matthews says large barricades warned drivers at the entrance to every street. The retired detective says he never saw them. After 28 years in law enforcement, he makes his case to Magistrate William Urich, arguing there wasn’t enough visible notice and saying he simply thought he had gotten lucky and found an open parking spot. Officer Matthews isn’t backing down. And when Urich delivers his ruling, he makes one thing clear: he respects the man’s years of service, but they have nothing to do with whether that parking ticket was valid. The ex-detective is ultimately found responsible, although Urich cuts the $50 fine in half to $25. #ParkingTicket #ExCop #PoliceOfficer #Magistrate #Courtroom #TrafficCourt #RoyalOak #MichiganCourt #CourtroomVideo #GavelGazers Our channel aims to shed light on the judicial process and the individuals responsible for delivering justice to the community.
