Description

Silverstone, 12 July 1987. With 28 laps left, Nigel Mansell was almost 29 seconds behind Nelson Piquet, in an identical Williams Honda, after a lost wheel weight forced him in for fresh tyres. Piquet was going the whole way on one set. I go through Adelaide 1986 and why both Williams drivers lost that title, the FW11B and its fuel limit, the lap records Mansell kept breaking as the gap fell, and the dummy down the Hangar Straight on lap 63. At the end, what the fuel display was showing when he crossed the line, and why Piquet still took the 1987 title. #ClassicCarArchives #NigelMansell #F1History Who really deserved the 1987 title, the man with six wins or the man who kept finishing? Tell me in the comments. I go through every single one.
