Description

In 1961 a tiny green Cooper rolled into Indianapolis with its engine in the wrong place, and the American crews laughed. Four years later there wasn’t a single front-engined roadster left that could keep up. This is one full hour of British-built cars that turned up at the most American race on earth and walked away with it. From Jack Brabham’s little Cooper and Jim Clark’s Lotus 38, to Graham Hill’s rookie win in the Lola, the turbine wedge that nearly stole 1968, and the March chassis that won five years in a row. Then the Penskes built in Poole, Dorset, and the Ilmor engine from Northamptonshire that was so dominant in 1994 the rulebook had to step in. I put all of these stories into one sitting so you can watch the whole British takeover of the Brickyard from start to finish. If you enjoy forgotten racing history, subscribe for more. And tell me in the comments which car you think embarrassed Indy the most. I go through the comments.
