Description
In 1894, a forgotten sandwich was born inside the Saratoga Club House casino, and it went on to become the most famous triple-decker in America.
The club sandwich didn't start in a kitchen. It started in a gambling den. The Saratoga Club House served it to high-rollers, and within decades it had spread from coast to coast, appearing on the menu of the Hollywood Dinner Club in Galveston, Texas for $1.25. That would be $30.00 today!
Today it's on every diner menu in America as well as lunch menus for high end restaurants. But the real story of how it got there has been forgotten.
