Description
🍞 THE BREAD OUR BAKERY NEVER STARTED FROM SCRATCH, ALL WRITTEN DOWN 👉 https://nicoferrarokitchen.com/ 👈
Six books from our old Sicilian kitchen: the whole Sunday table, suppers for two, a dough for every season, and what to do with everything left over.
In 1931 the bakery on Mulberry Street caught fire at three in the morning. A seventy-year-old baker ran back inside. Not for the money. He came out holding a bowl with one fist of raw dough in it, and by seven o'clock the bread was out again.
You throw that fist away every time you bake. The one piece that makes bread rise faster, taste like a bakery's, and stay soft for days.
And there is a reason the Monday bread was always the worst of the week. One minute on Saturday night fixed it for good.
Tell me in the comments: if your family's kitchen were on fire and you had one minute, what would you carry out?
