Description

September 1969 was another incredible month for album releases. From the final album recorded by The Beatles to psychedelic rock, blues, progressive rock, garage rock, and everything in between, this was a month that perfectly captured a music scene in transition. It's fascinating to see just how many different directions rock music was taking by the end of the '60s. While some artists were moving away from psychedelia and towards heavier sounds, others were looking back to rock and roll, blues, folk, and other musical traditions to create something new. As always, these are not necessarily the best-selling or most famous albums released that month, but rather a selection of records that I think are worth revisiting.
