The Most Famous Person From Every Alabama County

Alabama keeps giving America its giants and letting somebody else raise them. The smoothest voice of the century, born in Montgomery and gone to Chicago by four. The first Black woman in space, born in Decatur and raised up north. So we drove all sixty seven counties with one rule, raised here not born here, and it takes half the names off the board before it hands each county to the person who actually stayed. North to the Gulf, from the Tennessee Valley down to the salt water. Florence and the Father of the Blues. Tuscumbia and the water pump that broke a silence. Muscle Shoals, the Wiregrass, the Black Belt, and the Birmingham names that could fill their own video. Some of the biggest stars the state ever produced get taken away on a technicality, and two counties down in the piney woods hold the last word, saved for the end of the road. One name per county, one detail you probably never knew, the rule applied straight down the line. Tell me which county I got wrong, because I already know I did.
