Description

On March 15, 1964, twelve-year-old Mary Theresa Simpson left her aunt's house in Elmira, New York, and never made it home. She was found four days later in a wooded area near Combs Hill Road, roughly seven miles away. For 62 years, her murder went unsolved, and the man responsible was never named as a suspect, witness, or person of interest in a case file that grew to nearly 6,000 pages. In 2026, forensic genealogy traced DNA preserved from Mary's clothing through a family tree, to a living son, and finally to his father: Alfred Raymond Murray Jr., who had died in 2004. Police exhumed his remains in November 2025 to confirm the match. This video covers the original 1964 investigation, the decades-long DNA testing effort, the genealogical search that identified Murray, and the case's final closure in February 2026. Subscribe to Radius of Crime for carefully researched cold cases, where the story starts with who she was, not just how she died. #ColdCase #TrueCrime #coldcasesolved
