Texas 1981 Cold Case Solved - Her Killer Was In Plain Sight For 45 Years

On February 13, 1981, 35-year-old Braniff flight attendant Beverly "Casey" Bruneau was found strangled inside her Grapevine, Texas apartment. The man who answered the door when detectives first arrived was Larry Dean Brown, her best friend's husband. Blood was recovered at the scene, but in 1981 there was no way to identify whose it was. The case went cold for decades until a 2010 DNA profile from the scene, combined with a covert trash sample collected outside Brown's Colorado home in 2026, gave investigators the comparison they'd been missing. Brown was arrested in June 2026 and indicted on a murder charge in Tarrant County, Texas.
