Description

When you think of Scooby Doo, you probably picture goofy chase scenes, sandwich stacks and villains trying to scare their victims in a cheap rubber mask. It was a formula that endeared it to millions of children worldwide like me growing up, so imagine me when Scooby Doo! Mystery incorporated rolled in and shattered the Mold, especially during the second half of its second season. Because instead of what we are usually used to, we got a sprawling story that really fleshed out the history of the Scooby Doo universe and placed in its centre an actual evil entity so ancient that could only be imprisoned and not destroyed. For millennia, it weaved its evil machinations bringing together groups of friends and destroying them, in its bid to gain freedom to consume the world. Today, I’m diving into this Evil Entity’s anatomy to help you understand how this ancient cosmic threat shaped the entire history of Scooby Doo and why it remains these franchise’s most ambitious storyline to date. So, without wasting any more time, grab a scooby snack and hop into the Mystery Machine, coz this one’s gonna be a ride! Let’s get started!
