Description
A statement attributed to the governor of Kano state sometimes last week, says that the southern part of the country should be allowed to complete its 8 years presidency, effectively asking Northern presidential contenders, especially NDC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar to shelve his 8th presidential run in favour of southern candidates.
We know that Kano is the centre of Northern leadership and the biggest city in the north. It is very unlikely that such a statement could not have been made without a wide consultation.
However, it looks like that statement didn’t fly with Atiku Abubakar. So, Supo, do you see this statement as a statement of intent to let Atiku know that he should not expect block votes from the north?
So far, Atiku, who was actually said to be from Cameroon, have refused to listen to every voice of reason to shelve his inordinate ambition that could create chaos to Nigeria unwritten rotational presidency and possibly cause another civil war and secession if he wins, can we say Atiku is unbothered because he doesn’t really have roots in Nigeria, that the country can go to blazes as far as he is concerned.
If Atiku is finally persuaded to step down,
and the 2027 election is between President Bola Tinubu of APC and Peter Obi of NDC, whom do you think Atiku’s supporters will vote for?
