Is Tinubu the new Awolowo or better than Awo?

Chief Obafemi Awolowo was the Premier of the Western Nigeria from 1954 to 1960. He was a leading figure in Nigeria’s independence movement and leader of the Action Group political party. With his 4 cardinal programmes - Free education, Free healthcare, Full employment and Integrated rural development, he was able to lay the foundation of what is now known as the SW which is the most developed part of Nigeria today. President Bola Tinubu too seems to be doing the same for Nigeria with reforms that could take Nigeria to Eldorado, the forex reform, the oil reform, the regional reform, the tax reform, the police reform, the solid minerals reform, the Nelfund reform, and many others. These are the reforms that 5 military heads of state were afraid to do, IBB, Abacha, Abdusalam, OBJ and Buhari, all chickened out, preferring to take the easy route. Do you see any similarity with the visions of these two leaders? After General Yakubu Gowon became Head of State on 1 August 1966, following a military coup that overthrew General Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi, the first thing he did was to release chief Obafemi Awolowo from jail to provide political leadership for the new regime Awolowo managed the country thru the civil war period, he was the only finance minister in world history who managed a nation’s economy thru a civil war without borrowing a dime, recently president Tinubu has cleared Nigeria’s IMF loans and is managing the country’s economy with utmost prudence, do you see any similarity between the two leaders? Awolowo was a good economy manager, a good administrator but not a good political strategist, that is why he did not become president. Tinubu on the other hand is a good economy manager, a good administrator as well as a good political strategist, he became president.
