Description
Iraq - and in particular its historic capital Baghdad - has endured some of the most agonizing recent decades that any nation has ever endured. And now, what was once the cradle of civilization is, as we speak, leaping headfirst into a daring revitalization project.
This many-faceted, multi-billion-dollar adventure consists of everything from bridges and highways, to a modernized airport, to a new metro system, to entire new cities, and even an enormous urban forest. And amazingly, there’s more, because Iraq is also trying to write a heroic story - in fact, what would arguably be among the most impressive of stories when it comes to a city and country rebuilding itself in the wake of war, dysfunction, and despair.
But all that depends on whether or not this revitalization project actually works.
In this episode of Looking 4, we’ll dive deep into this epic saga to see what all is being planned and built, and why this is such a uniquely significant effort.
