Description

When we talk about the most influential decade for kids' animation, we can all agree that the '80s were a golden and weird period for animated TV shows, more specifically cartoons which were created to sell a large number of toys for the particular parent company. We had G.I.Joe, Masters of the Universe and other legit fun cartoons with cool world-building, popular characters and profitable toy sales. But there was one cartoon in this respect which was created largely to generate customer interest for their video games, a show which was only possible in the wacky logic of '80s animations—Captain N: The Game Master. A crucial part of NBC's Saturday morning cartoons, the show featured Nintendo and third-party game characters, and it lasted for 3 seasons from 1989 to 1991. I know I know, some of you might have gone on nostalgia trips just by hearing that name and others might wonder why a Nintendo crossover matters in today's age of MCU? Well, in this video, we will answer all these questions and some more while also delving into the ending of the show. So, without further delay, let's take a deep dive into Videoland.
