Mormon vs Scientology: Two American Religions, Two Very Different Futures

From a farm boy's vision in New York to a science fiction writer's psychological theory in New Jersey, two American religious movements emerged nearly a century apart and took radically different paths. This documentary breaks down the institutional structures, financial transparency, and growth strategies behind the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Church of Scientology using publicly available records, regulatory filings, and independent survey data rather than promotional materials. Discover how family structure, public accountability, and global expansion shaped one movement into a worldwide institution with millions of members, while the other faced documented decline in the United States. We examine the SEC settlement involving Ensign Peak Advisors, the IRS tax-exempt ruling for Scientology, and the real numbers behind both organizations' membership claims. This is not about which faith is right or wrong. It's about understanding why some religious movements scale globally while others struggle to sustain themselves. Watch till the end for the full breakdown, and subscribe to The Aevustra for more deep dives into religious history and comparative faith analysis. #mormon #scientology #ldschurch #churchofscientology #religioushistory #AmericanReligion #documentary #FaithComparison #latterdaysaints #LRonHubbard #josephsmith #religionexplained #comparativereligion #churchhistory #religiousmovements
