Keith Was Voltron's Most Trusted Captain — So Why Did He Attack His Own Team? Voltron Force trusted Keith with their lives. But in the 1985 Marvel comic run, that trust nearly destroyed them from the inside — when Lotor and Haggar turned their own captain into a weapon against the team he commanded. This video breaks down three interconnected comic issues that the cartoon never adapted: a mind-control device that hijacks Keith mid-sleep, a Robeast built specifically to wipe out the Voltron Force, and the ghost of King Alfor intervening directly in the war. Pulled straight from the original 1985 Voltron comic run, this is the darker trilogy Saturday morning television left out entirely. In this video: Keith gets mind-controlled and turns against his own teammates The team has to break the control themselves, with nothing but loyalty A Robeast engineered by Haggar specifically to destroy Voltron Force The ghost of King Alfor appears to save the Red Lion Lotor disguises himself as an ambassador to steal all five lion keys A desperate last stand with Pidge racing to recover the missing Green Lion If you grew up with Voltron, Voltron Force, Keith, Lotor, Haggar, Allura, and the Blazing Sword, this is the story you never saw on TV. 🔔 Subscribe for more hidden histories behind your favorite 80s and 90s cartoons — Transformers, ThunderCats, He-Man, G.I.
